What a cruel trick of mother nature! This past weekend were were tempted with 60 degree weather (that my kids called "hot"). It made it seem like Spring was just around the corner and that winter was almost done. Not so in Colorado. Out of all the places I've ever lived, the weather changes here with the greatest extremes. Today the day started out in the 20s - it quickly got colder and colder as it started snowing. Tomorrow the high is supposed to be negative. I'm really hoping for a snow day because I really don't want to go out in that weather at all! It did make the trees really pretty in our neighborhood, though.
Spring is looking really far away at this point... hopefully we can hold on!

Winterspree 2011
There was a fun cubscout activity at the Air Force Academy this past weekend. I was able to go with David (Josh went later in the day with the younger scouts) and we were blessed with very pleasant weather. They got to play games and learn stuff from the cadets all morning long. Here is David lining up for his first activity.
After that, my camera battery died, but I took a few shots with my phone.
They got to practice different ways to carry someone that is injured.
Do athletic drills on the field
Here's David after playing soccer.
It was fun to see the field up close without thousands of people being there.
I wish that I had been able to take some more pictures. They did tug of war, spoon races, played ultimate frisbee, did an obstacle course, and much more. At the end they did some demonstrations with the dogs that they train for narcotics and explosives detection. It was a fun and interesting day!
