For Spring Break this year, we decided to make a trip to Utah. We get to see Amanda's family and also Aaron's sisters. We made a trip down to BYU - a little walk down memory lane for Mom & Dad.
We stopped in the Art Museum and the kids posed by this LOVE sculpture.
Emma is always my willing photo subject.
Having been away for so long we totally forgot that campus pretty much shuts down at 11:00 am on Tuesdays. That was right when we got to the book store, so we had a little bit of time to kill. I made Josh pose by this statue of kids playing with a frog. Kind of sounds like something Josh would do :)
The kids by the "Tree of Life" or is it the "Tree of Knowledge", I can't remember...
The Eyring Science Center.
It's kind of funny - the buildings that have looked the same forever are the science and the computer science buildings (where we met). The big, brand new one is the Smith Family Living Center. I guess that's BYU for you. We did walk around the old Talmadge Building (Computer Science) and it looks exactly the same. They have updated the computers though...
Anyway, it was fun to go back and visit. I will always cherish my days at BYU.

Congratulations are in Order
I have such great kids - I just have to brag a little bit here. In March, David got his Bear Badge in Cub Scouting along with several belt loops, a gold arrow, and 3 silver arrows. I am now an assistant Den Leader and we get to do the Scouts thing together. It's fun to see him so excited about the things that he is learning and doing.
Rachel was inducted in the National Junior Honor Society. She has earned straight As so far in 6th grade and was so excited to make it into the NJHS. Funny story about the ceremony: All the new inductees were sitting in alphabetical order ready to walk up, receive a candle, and shake all the officer's hands. The student officers were taking turns reading the names of the new members. Right when it was Rachel's turn, they switched the person that was reading names. He skipped over the rest of the Bs and went straight to the Cs. I wasn't sitting by Rachel, and I was sure she was thinking that for some reason she didn't make it in. After they got done with entire alphabet, they went back and read the names of those that had been skipped. I'm glad they finally got it right in the end! I only had my cell phone camera, so the pictures aren't that great.
Here's Rachel with her candle.
I'm so proud of her!
