David's Arrow of Light

One of the reasons David was so excited to turn 11 was that he would be completing Cub Scouts, receiving his Arrow of Light, and moving on to Boy Scouts. Here he is with his Webelos leader.

When Cub Scouts complete the requirements and move on to Boy Scouts they "cross over the bridge"

Here's our new Scout Master imparting some words of Wisdom.

He is so excited for Scouts! He used some of his birthday money to buy a scout pocket knife. He is excited for camp outs and for what is to come!

Emma, the Kindergarten Graduate

Emma graduated from Kindergarten in May! They put on a cute program in the gym. I was sitting near the back, and the pictures weren't great, but they sure were cute!

Here is Emma and her friend Morgan.

Congratulations Emma! I can hardly believe that my youngest is done with Kindergarten and will be in full day school next fall. They sure grow up fast.

David turns 11!

David was very excited for his birthday this year. He was turning 11 on May 11, in the year 2011! He is a fun, creative boy!

He makes the best happy faces when opening presents!

He got money from grandparents and a new video game from us. We tried our hand at making cupcakes again and they were a hit!

Happy Birthday David! We sure are lucky to have you in our family.

Bathroom remodel

There are a lot of things that I love about my house. My master bathroom finishes - not one of them. It's big, and had the layout that we liked, but the tile was dated and starting to crack.

I thought that we could just live with it for a while, but we started to discover that water was leaking through the tile/grout and causing problems.
Here it is partway through the demo process. You can see all the mold and icky stuff that was growing on the wall under the tile. Ewwwww!

Here's a closeup of some of the worst of it:

We decided to hire a friend of ours to redo everything (Aaron did the demo). Here it is all framed!

Progress is being made.

The finished product:

There's still some work to be done - I need to replace the forest green shades with something more neutral and I would love to replace the carpet with tile. That will come someday. In the meantime, we are enjoying our new bathroom!
